What does Reporting tell me?

The Reporting section provides insights into Split Case fees and Cost Variance to help you manage costs and protect margin.

The Reporting section may require a subscription. If you do not have access to these reports, go to Settings > Plans to review plan options.

Reporting is broken into two separate reports, which include either a heat map or bar graph to help you visualize your spending patterns by location.

💡 A retailer must have at least 10 locations to see a heat map for Cost Variance and Split Case. Retailers with fewer locations instead will see a Top Locations bar graph.

Split-Case Report

The Split-Case Report identifies the cost incurred when product cases are broken. Many distributors charge fees when breaking cases. The report helps retailers optimize their purchase habits and save money by including the following insights:

Spending analysis on Split-Case fees.
Split-Case fees based on location.
Products with Split-Case fees.
Order Suggestions dependent on low Split-Case fees.
Invoices received with high Split-Case fees.

The tiles available in the Split-Case Report tab include the following insights:

Widget	Description	Use Cases
Total Spend	Total amount spent on products. Based off of received invoices with dates that are within range of time period chosen at the top of the page. Represents regulated invoices only (i.e., alcohol).	How much are we spending on products overall?
Total Split-Case Fees	Total amount spent on Split-Case fees. Calculated out of the Total Spend amount.	Is the spending on split-case fees high?
% of Fees Over Total Spend	Percentage indicating how much of the split-case fees make up the total spending amount.	How does the money spent on split-case fees compare to my overall spend?
Top Areas with Split-Case fees	A chart detailing the cities and locations that split-case fees have been the highest based on received invoices. Choose between the Cities and Locations tabs at the top of the chart to see total split-case fees among different cities or locations.	Are you paying more in split-case fees for the same product based on city or location? Can indicate if specific vendor in the area is charging more than others.
Top 5 Products with Split-Case Fees	Top 5 products with the highest split-case fees.	What products are causing the most split case fees? Are there similar products with lower split-case fees?
Split-Case Fees by Category	Total amount of money spent on split-case fees per product category (beer, wine, spirits). Hover over product category pie slices to see total split-case fees.	What categories are causing split-case fees? What categories have products with lower split-case fees that we could buy instead?
Top 5 Case Order Suggestions	Top 5 products previously purchased that have low split-case fees.	What products should I always be buying by the case to save money?
Invoices with Split-Case Fees Report	List of products on specific invoices that have split-case fees.	Are you incurring fees when you could have saved money by buying more at a time?

Cost Variance

The Cost Variance report shows the products and locations responsible for swings in the cost of goods purchased. You can also see the top 5 products with the greatest variances are and organize them by category or vendor. If cost variances occur in multiple locations, you can view the variance by state on a heat map.

How-To Guide

The tiles available in the Cost Variance tab include the following insights:

Widget	Description	Use Cases
Total Spend	Total amount spent on products. Based off received invoices with dates that are within range of time period chosen. Represents regulated invoices only (i.e., alcohol).	How much are we spending on products overall?
Total Variances	The amount that could be saved if price changes did not occur. Based on if an invoice was received with products that had changing prices compared to previous invoices.	What products are fluctuating in price?
% of Variance Over Total Spend	Percentage indicating how much of the variance amount makes up the total spending amount.	Is the money being spent on products with price changes justifiable? Should products with changing prices be rotated out? (this may help save money which will lower variance percentage).
Top Areas with Variances	Cities or retailer locations that have change in product cost over time. Change the insights to show cities or specific locations using the tabs above the chart.	Are you paying more for products across locations? What cities have vendors that are charging more for a product?
Top 5 Products with Variance	Top 5 products with the highest price changes.	Which products are having the most significant changes in price over time?
Cost Variance by Category	Pie chart representing variance totals for each product category (beer, wine, spirits).	What categories are having big swings in product pricing? What categories have products that could be rotated out to possibly avoid variances?
Invoices with Variance Report	Invoices that show changes in a product's cost over time.	What products have the highest unit price changes?
