How can I use Sales Overview to monitor my revenue?

Review sales performance, distribution, and understand how to grow your margin.

Sales Overview summarizes overall sales for your SBT program. Learn about store and product performance directly from point-of-sale data: 

Data can be drilled into by the Retailer/Store, Vendor, Category, Products, State, and Time Period filters found above the widgets. All widgets will update dynamically based on the filters applied:

💡 The Time Period filter defaults to displaying data from the last 3 months.



Toggle View Margin Details to change all visuals from showing total sales to showing cost vs. margin breakdowns (i.e., costs paid to vendors and remaining gross revenue from sales).

Key Sales Metrics 

Quick view of total sales with a count of products sold, average daily sales across all stores with a count of units sold, the number of stores with sales revenue, and the average sales per store with a count of units sold.

Assess whether margin goals are being met.

Total Cost and Gross Margin 

Breaks down sales into vendor costs, margin dollars, and a gross margin percentage.

  • Monitor profitability and track margin changes between time periods.

  • Determine if vendor costs can be decreased.

Store Count by Sales Range

  • Displays how many stores fall into different sales ranges.

  • Sales ranges are segmented by new and existing stores. 

  • Hover over the bars to gain insight into the sales range being displayed and store counts.

  • Spot underperforming stores.

  • Track new-store sales progress. 

Sales by Location 

  • View sales performance based on geographic location. 

  • State displays which locations in the chosen state on the map have had the most changes in sales (includes increases and/or decreases in revenue). Zoom into the map to see store locations.

  • Store displays where the locations are on the map, as well as the changes in sales for each store (includes increases and/or decreases in revenue).

  • Select View All States or View All Stores to look at all states/stores and associated sales in a table format.  

Determine marketing strategies per location, where retail expansion can occur, and compare retail performance. 

Sales by Vendor / Category 

  • Shows which vendors or categories drive the most sales and the count of units sold.

  • Select View All Vendors or View All Categories to look at sales in table form.  

Identify the highest and lowest performing vendors and/or categories.  

Sales by Product 

  • View the highest and lowest performing products for the time period selected.

  • Shows each item’s contribution to total revenue (% of Total Sales), the total sales dollars, and number of units sold. 

  • Select View All Products text to open a detailed table version of the widget. 

  • Focus on the inventory that needs to remain well-stocked. 

  • Review which products are underperforming.
