What insights does the Sales Summary report provide?

Leverage Sales Summary to monitor and analyze retailer sales.

Sales Summary details a high-level view of product sales at a retailer level. The column Total Sales Dollars is calculated by multiplying the units sold by the wholesale cost of each product for the time period chosen.

Filtering

Use the search bar to locate a specific sale based on a retailer, store, product category, or product. Select a time period using the Date Range filter to limit which sales are shown in the table:

The table defaults to being organized by Retailer but can be organized by the other columns. The columns shown will be dependent on the category selected in the Group Data By filter. The Group Data By filter allows you to view sales based on retailers, stores, product categories, or specific products:

  • Group by Retailer to view retailers, units sold per retailer (units that have been scanned at the register), and total sales dollars per retailer.
  • Group by Store to view retailers, store ID’s, units sold per store, and total sales dollars per store location.
  • Group by Category to view product categories, the amount of products sold within a category, and the total sales dollars per category.
  • Group by Product to view products sold to stores, their UPC numbers, units sold, and the total sales per product.

Above the table, there are dynamic fields that provide totals of certain columns. The data may vary based on what the table is grouped by:

Click More Filters to further limit the data shown by Retailer, Store, Category, Product and Date Type. You can also use the Sort By fields to organize the table by a specific column.

💡 Within Date Type:

  • Post Date is the date when you receive payment for purchased products.

  • Sale Date is when the product was scanned and purchased in store.

These dates may be different from one another.

To set any chosen filters as your default view to be seen each time you log, toggle Save as default filter:

Emailing or Exporting a Sales Summary

Send the data shown in the table with or without filters as an email by clicking the Email button in the top right corner of the screen. If you’d like to download the data as a CSV file, click Export:

💡 Selecting Email will send a CSV of the data to the email associated with your portal account. For larger data sets, emailing is recommended rather than exporting.
